Ink Viscometers & Viscosity Control
Viscometer Solutions for Ink, Adhesives and Varnishes
Bingham Flexo Services offers a comprehensive range of GAMA ink viscometers and viscosity control systems designed for the printing and converting industries. These compact and easy-to-use tools ensure precise ink viscosity management for both solvent-based and water-based inks. Integrated directly into the ink distribution system, GAMA’s viscometers continuously monitor and regulate viscosity as ink moves from the container to the printing unit.
The VIS G26 viscometer is engineered to maintain print quality by utilizing an advanced sensor vibration system. When in contact with ink, the sensor’s vibrations change, generating a wave that travels through the liquid. This data is then processed and converted into Ford cup or Zahn cup viscosity values for accurate measurement.
To ensure consistency, the system compares real-time viscosity readings with preset values. If deviations occur, the Supervisor software instantly calculates and adjusts the solvent-to-ink ratio, automatically correcting viscosity levels. Additionally, the system generates a detailed production report, providing insights into viscosity trends, temperature variations, and solvent consumption. With GAMA’s sophisticated software, viscosity control is performed every 10 seconds, ensuring superior print quality and process efficiency.
Viscometer G26
The VIS-G26 is a microprocessor controller for the regulation of the viscosity of the ink. The viscosity measurement is possible through a vibration sensor immersed in the analyzed liquid, without moving parts. It’s installed in series to the outlet; it emits a frequency which, in contact with the liquid, is changed. From the analysis the control elaborates the viscosity in seconds (cup ZAHN, FORD, …) and through the management of the solvent valve keeps the value according to the reference. The cleaning of the viscometer is made at the end of the job, while washing the inking circuit.
